Leading IT for Engineering (CAD & Digitalization)

2018-2023 Joined into IT for Engineering @ Mercedes-Benz as Senior Program Manager in Oct 2018, continuing the Digital journey from over last 2 years @GE

Responsible for team of 18 and over time upto team of 55 delivering NX (Siemens CAD Software) releases along with CAD Methods, Development & Testing of 400+ Add-on automation tools for 6000+ users. Team was a combination of mechanical & IT engineers (.net and web application developers).

2023 Oct -Onwards: Leading org wide R&D Digitalization initiative. Was on global assignment to Mercedes-Benz AG,Stuttgart, Germany to formulate an approach, explore digitalization needs, and establish early use cases across various departments of R&D and IT.

Worked with NVIDIA, Siemens and others for partnership and exploration of AI/ML, AR/VR, Physics Engines for simulation and Data streamlining solutions.

Key Achievements:

1.Onwerhsip Transition: Established mandate of Core team of 7+ (Architechts, Application Owner, Product Owners, Release Manager, Test Manager, Cross-Functional Products, Infra-Services etc.), as Onwership Transition Project, responsible for central global deployment and release activities of Siemens NX year-on-year customizing for use of Mercedes-Benz despite multiple business challenges. Team won Star-Team award for achievements in 2021.

2.2022-2023: Interim responsible for CAD CoC representation to VP: IT for Engineering. This included cooridnation of operations of team (size 120+ with peer leads in respective 3 areas) in global CAD domain, deployment, Engineering Application Support and AR/VR. Developed multiple leaders within the team, breaking the perception of historical long time stagnancy within the area.

3.Reporting to CIO office, was part of 4 members from IT PMO team for SAP rollout for entire Mercedes-Benz India organization with ~30Mn Euro Turnover Y-o-Y. Project included, Migration, UAT and user trainings. This brought in new business models of Ticket Based, Milestone based and license based financing models, apart from Managed services and Time & Material Model collaborating with Legal, PMOs, Executives, and Finance and Controlling teams..

4.Data/AI Projects: Actively lead with team development of Chat-Bot for support, consolidation of documents and robotic procees automations. Enabled team initiative of data driven application by logging the NX events thru a new application for greater user and stability insights. Conceptualizing and encouraging development of customer requirement portal for logging of existing automation and requesting new ones. Paved way for multiple AI based applications and resulting overtime in filing of multiple software process innovation patents!

5.NVIDIA Pakages: Prove early results via 4 new cross functional integrated use cases on Logistics, Validation, Sensor Positioning & Data Management by aggregation, simulation and visualization, enabling for the first time, new capabilities for Early Engineering Maturity using Physics Engines, Open source Paraview, Drive Sim + NDAS NVIDIA Packages for perception validation .

6.ESG & CSR: Part of initiatives for Cleaning Drive at Nandi Hills & Plantation of Lake at Whitefield,
